Founded in 2016 by Mariana Monroy with over fifteen years of experience in film  industry, as well as relevant background in series and advertisement, TROPICAL FILMS is a group that specializes in high  quality and original films, giving voice to new talents with interesting productions  that resound within the international context.

 TROPICAL FILMS focuses in  quality, not quantity, through the films, series and documentaries that we have executed, we have dedicated  entirely to the cinematographic quality of the project throughout all phases of  production.

TROPICAL FILMS is based in Mexico City and Brussels, which facilitates dialogues between different latitudes, so we look for international voices, and develop stories beyond geographical borders.
We also provide production services in Latin America and Europe, development, analysis and help with financing in Europe and/or Latin America.

We work with producers from Belgium, Mexico, Argentina, depending on the project we have associations in Los Angeles and in Brussels

Nomads of Highway 57 is a 2023 documentary directed by Alberto Arnaut Estrada and José María Castro Ibarra that portrays the lives of truck drivers in Mexico, focusing on the story of Clara Fragoso, a female trucker and a role model for other women in the field. The film depicts the harshness, risks and isolation of the profession, while also highlighting its dignity, sense of humor and the vital importance of this work for the country.

  • Jury Prize at Miradas Alternativas MX Film Festival: Received a jury recognition for its artistic quality and significance.
